WHAT IS A SCHOLARSHIP?

You have probably heard the word “scholarship”. If you are in middle school or high school you may have heard teachers, school counselors or friends talking about scholarships. A scholarship is money that students receive for college that doesn’t need to be paid back. Sounds like a sweet deal, right? It is, but there are different types of scholarships and many times the organizations giving the scholarships have certain requirements. So, even though you do not have to repay the money, there is usually still a bit of work on your part to receive and maintain the scholarship.

3. Corporations
4. Foundations
5. Organizations
6. Churches
7. Local service organizations
8. Fraternities and Sororities
